FSKA Bracknell Karate Students Make The Grade

FSKA Bracknell Karate Grading

The FSKA Bracknell Shotokan Karate club is proud to announce that several of its students were awarded Dan grades by Sensei Kyle Funakoshi, 8th Dan, Senior Instructor from the Funakoshi Shotokan Karate Association based in California, USA.

The seminar was held in Crawley, West Sussex on Sunday 11th October 2015 and featured a day of Shotokan Karate training with Sensei Kyle Funakoshi. The day concluded with Sensei Funakoshi grading students for Dan levels, (black belt and above).

The successful Bracknell FSKA students who passed their grading were:

  • Sensei Chris Taylor, Assistant Instructor, 5th Dan
  • Sensei Allen Weedon, Assistant Instructor, 3rd Dan
  • Lynette Warren, 2nd Dan
  • Sunil Daz, 1st Dan
  • Gabriela Yordanova, 1st Dan

Other students who also passed their grading were Mark Forbes, 2nd Dan (FSKA Crawley) and Beverley Sime, 2nd Dan (FSKA Wales)

Sensei Russ Peters who runs the FSKA Bracknell Shotokan Karate club said “This is a very proud moment for us, it’s been a fantastic year for the club, the students have worked really hard to prepare for their grading and their hours of training and dedication has paid off. The club also had a great result in the FSKA World Championships earlier on in the year”.

FSKA Bracknell club members are invited to participate in the 2014 Funakoshi Shotokan Karate Seminar (Open Karate course) with 10th Dan Shihan Kenneth Funakoshi.

£35.00 for one day

FSKA Bracknell at SRK 2014

7th SRK Spring Open 2014 Results

The SRK Spring Open Championships is a popular event, with the 2013  event attracting over 200 competitors from Essex, Kent, London and beyond coming to test their skills against each other in Kata and Kumite.

The squad from FSKA Bracknell performed fantastically and achieved the following results;

  • Conner Weedon – 3rd place Kata and 2nd place Kumite
  • Sunil Das – 3rd place Kata
  • Miroslaw Ligaj – 2nd place Kata and 1st place Kumite
  • Sensei Russ Peters, Tom Peters,Moritz Hedrich – 3rd place Team Kata

A brilliant result for the FSKA Bracknell Karate squad, many thanks to all who took part.
