Russell began his karate journey in 1993, training under Sensei Ron Silverthorne (7th Dan) in Crawley, West Sussex.
In 2000, Russell started FSKA Bracknell and opened his first Bracknell Karate club, training twice a week at the Great Hollands Community Centre teaching both juniors and seniors Funakoshi Shotokan Karate.
The club is now very popular within Bracknell and Russell teaches karate three times a week to both beginners and advanced students at the Waitrose Sports and Social club in Willoughby Way, Bracknell.
Russell holds a valid valid DBS certificate, formally known as a CRB check as part of his teaching karate at several local schools in Bracknell and is also a qualified First Aider.
